I Won’t Sack my Assistant- Sarri

manager, has promised to give his second assistant coach, Marco Ianni “another opportunity” after he apologised to boss for his touchline behaviour at the weekend.

Marco Ianni was charged by the Football Association (FA) with improper conduct after celebrating late equalizer for Chelsea against United wildly in front of Mourinho, who in turn had to be restrained by stewards as things threatened to boil over.

Mourinho revealed he received an apology from Ianni after the game and has therefore considered the matter “over” and Sarri insists Ianni is remorseful of his action.

“As I said after the match, we were wrong,” Sarri said during a news conference.

“I was there when Marco spoke to Jose Mourinho and he said sorry immediately. It was very important that he realised he was wrong, so I want to give him another opportunity.

“I know that he was really sorry and he realised it was a mistake. Everybody can make a mistake, but you need to learn from a mistake. I think he will be able to do it.

“I know him very well, so I am sure. About the FA, I don’t know. I have not experienced it here and I don’t know the consequence. We were wrong and have to accept the consequences.”

Sarri admitted he too made errors when he was Ianni’s age.
