Emiliano Sala: Search Team Recover Body From Missing Plane The search team in charge recovering the bodies of and British pilot after their plane went missing, have found a body.

The plane carrying the football star and his pilot companion went missing on January 21 but was discovered earlier this month at the bottom of the English Channel.

The investigators late Wednesday, February 6, announced they had recovered a body from the wreckage.

“The body is currently being taken to Portland to be passed into the care of the Dorset Coroner,’’ a statement read.

A body was picked up by underwater cameras, but investigators are yet to publicly confirm its identity. Investigators from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch () have been leading the search mission for days, UK Metro reports.

In statement released to the press, AAIB said the body has since been transferred to Portland, pending the affirmation of its identity.

The mission group further said attempts to recover the wreckage have been abandoned, citing bad weather.

An interim report on the plane accident will now be published within a month, with video of the wreckage set to provide valuable evidence for investigation.

The 28-year-old footballer had just sealed a January move to Cardiff City from French side, Nantes, and was yet to kick a ball with the Championship side.
