Uche Nwosu Dumps APC, Vies for Governor Under AA
Okorocha's Son-in-Law Defects to Action Alliance
Son-in-law of Governor Rochas Okorocha, Uvche Nuosu has dumped the All Progressive Congress to contest for governor in the 2019 elections under the Action Alliance.
Chief Nwosu, whose name was not submitted by the APC has as the party flag bearer for the Imo state governorship elections, had earlier said that he would stay in the party and reclaim his stolen mandate.
This development was made official as Nwosu’s posters flooded Owerri, the Imo state capital, on Monday, December 3.
This is against the Sunday, December 2, deadline for the substitution of names of contesting candidates by INEC.
Sir Leonard Okolienta, the governorship candidate for the party in the state, has faulted the claims of Nwosu as governorship candiadate, referring to him as an impostor.
According to him, Nwosu is neither a member of the party nor did he contest in the governorship primary of the party.
Speaking to journalists in Owerri, on Monday, December 3, Okolienta stated that he remains the authentic governorship candidate of the party in the state and that he had not sold his mandate to anybody.
“Uche Nwosu is just an impostor for claiming that he is now the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance because I have not surrendered my mandate to anybody and I will not surrender it to anybody because it is not for sale, neither is the state for sale,” he said.
