Lagos State Commissioner Defects From APC
Ambode's Commissioner Resigns
The commissioner made this known in a letter dated December 3 and sent to Channels Television on Wednesday, Channels TV reports.
The letter that was addressed to the APC Chairman in the state, explained that he took the decision as a result of the events that occurred at the party’s state primary held in October.
According to the commissioner, the party primary was characterized by voter disenfranchisement, undue influence, violence, and intimidation to members among other activities that violate the electoral law.
Oluwo also revealed that he has sent a resignation letter as commissioner to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, adding that the poor conduct of the election had left him with a huge moral burden.
He added that the APC lacked integrity, and its actions ‘have diminished the hard-earned reputation of the state as a reference point for free and fair democratic practice’.
He also included that the party no matter how powerful should be subject to the views of the majority.
