APC, PDP Trade Blame Over National Assembly Workers’ Strike
This was as in a statement by the party’s national publicity secretary, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC on Monday, December 17, in Abuja.
He stated that the strike is a proof and a reminder of what the PDP government look like.
He described the strike which has which resulted to shutdown of the legislative complex, as shameful, calling on the PDP Senate president, Bukola Saraki, and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, to save the nation from further embarrassment.
“The PDP’s 16-year rule was characterised by such incidences of unpaid salaries, ghost workers and a shocking disdain for workers’ welfare,” he said, calling on the leadership of the Assembly yo meet the workers’ demands.
Issa-Onilu pointed out that while the minority PDP usurpers who paraded themselves as NASS leadership promptly paid themselves their allowances, workers under the umbrella of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) were being owed.
He said that the PASAN workers were owed their duly earned 28 per cent increase in their salaries since 2010.
