Buhari’s Endorsement of New Minimum Wage Receives Commendation From Atiku
Following the suspension of strike and endorsement of the demanded 30,000 minimum wage, Atiku Abubakar has commended the presidency.
In his commendation via a statement released by his Presidential Campaign Organisation on Tuesday, November 6, in Abuja, the People’s Democratic Party 2019 presidential candidate included that the government should ensure the promise is kept.
Referring to Nigerian workers as ‘goose that lays the golden egg’, Abubakar further called on the presidency and senate to speedily endorse the bill as workers are worthy of the best pay that Nigeria could afford.
Alhaji Abubakar also disclosed that his election into the office of president will ensure jobs for Nigerians as his campaign is all about prioritizing the welfare of Nigerian workers.
“No sacrifice is too great to make for us to get Nigeria working again and that is what the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation is all about.
“Abubakar means jobs, jobs that would pay the minimum wage and above because Nigeria should benefit the masses and not those who are in top government positions.”
He further commended the actions of the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and others in suspending the planned nationwide strike, describing it as patriotic.
