Akwa-Ibom State House Of Assembly Begins Impeachment Procedure of Governor Udom
The on-going leadership tussle in Akwa-Ibom as overseen by the State House of Assembly has heightened as gunshots were fired into the air on Tuesday November 27.
The State House of Assembly had reportedly begun impeachment proceedings against the current governor of the state, Udom Emmanuel.
This was after a five man faction of the House led by Nse Ntuen arrived at the chamber earlier in the day and concluded a sitting.
To resolve the controversies, police personnel were later deployed to the complex in Uyo, the state capital.
The security officials fired several gunshots into the air to disperse some suspected thugs who had earlier gained entrance into the premises of the complex.
Afterwards, the Speaker of the State Assembly, Onofiok Luke led the other 21 members into the Chambers where they sat for about two hours deliberating on various issues.
