Nigerian Man Takes President to Court, Says He Should be Disqualified
In the highlight of President Buhari’s WAEC saga, a Nigerian man has taken the president to court, asking that he be disqualified from 2019 presidential elections,
This suit filed before the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos by Itsede Kingley .
Itsede asked the court to declare that an affidavit President Buhari attached to his credentials instead of his certificates which he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were null and void.
The Nigerian insisted that President Buhari be banned from contesting in the 2019 Presidential elections. However, no date has been fixed for the commencement of hearing of the case with number FHC/U18/1765/18.
This suit as well as other complains from Nigerian groups and political leaders may pose a threat to the president’s wish for a second term as it seems to be heightening as the days go by.
This suit however is not in line with the president’s request for a re-election, as said in a speech delivered during the Island Club lecture.
