Fayose and Anglican Bishop go Head to Head Over Administration
Anglican Bishop, Ekiti Diocese, Reverend Christopher Tayo Omotunde has described Governor Ayodele Fayose’s four years as wasted.
The bishop said this during his message at a thanksgiving service in the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Okesa, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital Sunday, October 28. The service was in honour of deputy governor Bisi Egbeyemi.
According to the Bishop: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had a golden chance to make a difference in the lives of Ekiti residents but abused the opportunity to the extent that the people became slaves under them.”
He added that Ekiti state needed repairs, resuscitation and rejuvenation to be put on the right track.
The governor did not falter in his reply. He identified the brain behind the Bishop’s comment, saying it was a brain-child of the rigging of elections in Ekiti by the rival party, All Progressive Congress (APC).
Fayose who delivered this reply via his chief press secretary, Idowu Adelusi, also made reference to his achievements as governor . Achievements ranging from flyover erections to school results were mentioned
He added that these achievements were visible even to the bind and only those who needed to change their glasses would be oblivious to it. He also prayed for opening of the Bishop’s eyes for to see his achievements.
Fayose also expressed his disappointment at the Bishop’s statement. “Our fathers have a saying that it is disheartening when one hears a statement of gullibility from a place where one expects to hear the words of wisdom”, he said.
