Properties Destroyed as Abule Egba Explosion Spells HavocThere has reportedly been an explosion at Tipper Garage Bus stop, Abule Egba, Lagos early Wednesday morning.

The explosion sent shivers down the spines of the residents of the area as vehicles, houses and offices were destroyed in the explosion.

According to security agencies, there are no exact figures of victims for now but many people were injured in the explosion.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s () on its official Twitter handle said the explosion was caused by oil spillage from a tanker.

“Situation report regarding the oil spillage at Tipper Garage Bus Stop Abule Egba. On arrival at the incident scene, the spillage from what appears to be bunkering activities came in contact with an ignitable source.

“The impact resulted in inferno as it ravaged houses and cars,” the Tweet read.

However, residents blame the explosion on the alleged activities of oil vandals which led to a rupture in one of the pipelines, while LASEMA officials are trying all they can to curtail the situation.
