Trump Frowns at Birthright Citizenship, Hopes to End the Absurdity

Much to the detriment of lovers of American , President says he hopes to end in the United States.

The American president said this in an interview with Axios, adding that he will like to see to it’s end via an Executive Order.

Trump said that it was “ridiculous” that any child born in America automatically becomes a citizen of the country.

 “We’re the only country in the world where a person comes in, has a baby and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years with all of those benefits. It’s ridiculous and it has to end,” Trump said.

Though the president believes that an executive order can stop birthright citizenship, the statute could be overturned by an act of Congress  and would no doubt set up another high-profile fight in federal court.

Although the The 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution states that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside,” the president is bent on correcting this supposed wrong.

CNN reports that the president has claimed that he can defy the constitution.

This development may not be so surprising as the president has had serious concerns with immigrations since his election.

Trump’s decision may have heightened tension in America as the president’s statement has received serious backlashes, reports.
