Nigerian Leaders Mourn Tony Anenih
Former minister of works, Chief Anthony Anenih, died yesterday, Sunday 29 at age 85.
The death of the Edo state born politician has indeed left a void in the heart of Nigerians especially in the political scene.
According to reports by his family, the one time police officer died after a brief illness at the Cedarcrest Hospital Abuja.
President Buhari sympathized with the family of the Chief , the Edo state government as well as the Peolple’s Democratic Party. He described the Chief as one he admired for his strong views on issues pertaining to the unity and stability of the nation.
General Ibrahim Babangida also described the late Anenih as a political master strategist and a charismatic Elder Statesman that has a unique passion for providing solutions in the governance of the country. He added that his death was a big loss to the political scene especially during this period of electioneering campaigns.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, in his tribute called the minister a great mobiliser and a reputable nationalist who, all through his life believed in, worked and prompted peace and unity in Nigeria.”
To Bpla Tinubu, former Lagos state governor, Anenih was a man who worked for the benefit of his hometown and Nigeria at large.
PDP, presidental aspirant Atiku Ababukar as well as many other Nigerian leaders sympathizedwith the family of the late politician.
There is no doubt that Nigerians has lost a true hero, father and great leader.
