Boko Haram Terrorist Strikes Again, One Dead Two community displaced.
Men suspected to be Boko Haram terrorist on Saturday 20th Oct attacked Marari and Femari communities in Kondonga local government area of Borno State. News Agency of Nigeria reports that the terrorist attacked the community in the evening. This comes barely 12hrs after News reported that the insurgents attacked Kuwa-Yangeya village on Maiduguri-Damboa Road on Saturday, October 20. The insurgents carried away food stuffs, burning houses and killing one.An eyewitness, Goni Umar, said the insurgents attacked the communities on gun trucks and motorcycles.
He added that the villagers fled into the bush while some others ran to Maiduguri, adding that: “one person was killed by a stray bullet while trying to escape”. “On our way to Maiduguri, we saw troops and police heading to the villages”. Brig.-Gen. Bulama Biu, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, confirmed the attack.
In a Short Service Message (SMS) to NAN, Biu said that troops had successfully repelled the attack, adding that the insurgents fled into the bush. “Troops have been deployed since 8.45pm and they are still combing the area in order to apprehend the culprits,” he said.
Recall that on Oct 18, President Muhammadu Buhari, reassured that the brutal activities of the Boko Haram sect would soon become history. The president gave the assurance when he hosted members of the Kannywood entertainment industry to a dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He said that the federal government would not allow any group hiding under religion to unleash terror on innocent citizens.
