Between Bolanle Olukanni and Twitter user who blamed mothers for not raising their sons better
Popular Nigerian tv presenter, Bolanle Olukanni and a Twitter user had an exchange after the twitter user blamed mothers for not raising their sons better.
According to the Twitter user, most Nigerian mothers spent all their time making sure their daughters know how to cook and does not wear short skirt. @scilla_xx wrote;
I’m sorry to say but Nigerian mothers did a terrible job raising the men of our generation. They spent all their time making sure their daughters know how to cook and does not wear short skirt.
JUST peep at how angry the Nigerian men are in the replies. If you don’t feel triggered by this tweet, why you mad babies?
However Bolanle Olukanni who disagreed with the Twitter who blamed mothers for not raising their sons better, stated that her argument is flawed because it puts the blame on women which in essence is counter productive ideology. The media personality wrote;
Its both the mothers and fathers who did a terrible Job. Again, your statement puts the blame on women which in essence is counter productive ideology. We need balanced homes with partnerships. Fathers play a significant role in forming a child’s character.
Clarifying the tweet, @scilla_xx wrote;
This tweet isn’t about blaming mothers alone omg lmao. It’s basically saying mothers push for “decency” and “morals” in mostly their daughters alone. Of course both parents raise their kids, me pointing out the mom did a terrible job isn’t saying the father didn’t also
I’m specifically talking about mothers faults. We can talk dads another day. It’s okay to talk about one thing at a time guys
